Las varices se desarrollan debido a la debilidad del tejido conjuntivo de la pared de las venas del sistema venoso superficial, esto hace que su sistema valvular no sea efectivo (el sistema valvular es el que se encarga de dirigir la sangre de las piernas contra gravedad hacia el coraz\u00f3n en posici\u00f3n de bipedestaci\u00f3n). En consecuencia aumenta la presi\u00f3n venosa en las piernas y esto dilata y deforma las venas superficiales form\u00e1ndose las varices.<br \/>\nEsta dilataci\u00f3n an\u00f3mala de las venas superficial debido al aumento de presi\u00f3n en su interior produce los s\u00edntomas t\u00edpicos del s\u00edndrome varicoso: edema, dolor, pesadez, calambres y sensaci\u00f3n de piernas cansadas.<br \/>\nDado que se trata de una patolog\u00eda que no tiene una soluci\u00f3n definitiva es muy importante su prevenci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QU\u00c9 PODEMOS HACER EN NUESTRO D\u00cdA A D\u00cdA PARA EVITAR O RETRASAR SU APARICI\u00d3N?<\/strong><br \/>\nAunque la aparici\u00f3n de las varices est\u00e1 asociado en parte a una predisposici\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica, hay ciertas acciones que pueden prevenir su aparici\u00f3n o empeoramiento.<br \/>\n&#8211; En primer lugar es fundamental realizar ejercicio f\u00edsico como un h\u00e1bito diario.<br \/>\n&#8211; Evitar estar de pie y est\u00e1tico durante mucho tiempo.<br \/>\n&#8211; Evitar estar sentado largos periodos de tiempo, sobre todo con las piernas cruzadas.<br \/>\n&#8211; Perder peso en caso de sobrepeso.<br \/>\n&#8211; Realizar ba\u00f1os de contraste t\u00e9rmico en las piernas durante la ducha.<br \/>\n&#8211; Cuando descansamos poner las piernas en alto para favorecer el retorno venoso y linf\u00e1tico.<br \/>\n&#8211; Tener cuidado con estar largos per\u00edodos de tiempo en contacto con fuentes de calor como radiadores, calefactores &#8230;<br \/>\n&#8211; Masajes suaves empezando por el tobillo hasta el muslo.<br \/>\n&#8211; El uso diario de medias o calcetines compresivos.<br \/>\n&#8211; Evitar exceso de grasas saturadas, az\u00facares y sal.<br \/>\n&#8211; Hacer uso de los anticonceptivos orales cuando sean estrictamente necesarios dado que la terapia hormonal facilita la aparici\u00f3n de varices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ES EL DEPORTE BENEFICIOSO PARA MEJORAR O PREVENIR LA APARICI\u00d3N DE VARICES?<\/strong><br \/>\nUn entrenamiento adecuado y constante mejora los s\u00edntomas de una persona con insuficiencia venosa cr\u00f3nica.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TODOS LOS DEPORTES SON BENEFICIOSOS PARA LAS VARICES?<\/strong><br \/>\nLos mejores deportes a realizar son la nataci\u00f3n y el aquagym. Dentro del agua, \u00e9sta crea una presi\u00f3n muy beneficiosa sobre las piernas y en caso de que su temperatura est\u00e9 ligeramente fr\u00eda mujer tono en la pared de la vena evitando su dilataci\u00f3n. Esto sumado a que la densidad del agua hace que los movimientos sean m\u00e1s progresivos y que se requiera m\u00e1s fuerza muscular para realizarlos, ayuda en gran medida a las v\u00e1lvulas venosas realizar el retorno venoso.<br \/>\nHay otros deportes beneficiosos como el senderismo y el ciclismo dado que no son deportes de gran impacto y durante su pr\u00e1ctica se producen contracciones c\u00edclicas de la musculatura posterior de la pierna (la bomba muscular es imprescindible para el retorno venoso). El baile, el yoga o la gimnasia r\u00edtmica tambi\u00e9n son buenos deportes a realizar para mejorar los s\u00edntomas y prevenir la aparici\u00f3n de varices. De hecho todos los deportes aer\u00f3bicos que no requieran de movimientos bruscos ni deportes est\u00e1ticos o con posiciones forzadas son beneficiosos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QU\u00c9 DEPORTES deber\u00eda intentar EVITAR EN CASO DE TENER VARICES?<\/strong><br \/>\nAunque no se trata de contraindicaciones absolutas sino de recomendaciones, es mejor intentar evitar los siguientes deportes:<br \/>\n&#8211; Deportes est\u00e1ticos como la halterofilia.<br \/>\n&#8211; Deportes como el baloncesto, voleibol, p\u00e1del, tenis (suponen cambios bruscos, saltos &#8230;).<br \/>\n&#8211; Deportes de contacto f\u00edsico: boxeo, hockey, rugby, f\u00fatbol.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Y QU\u00c9 PASA CON EL RUNNING?<\/strong><br \/>\nExiste una creencia falsa que correr puede generar varices. Si el estado de las v\u00e1lvulas venosas se el adecuado, el running puede incluso ayudar a que no se desarrollen y su tratamiento. En caso de tener varices es muy recomendable consultar al especialista en Cirug\u00eda Vascular para realizar una valoraci\u00f3n del tipo de varices que presenta y para recibir consejos sobre c\u00f3mo puede realizar este deporte sin agravar la enfermedad o incluso para mejorarla.
